Defence Day: Nation Salutes Havildar Chaudhry Zaheer Ahmed Shaheed Who Sacrificed His Life for the Motherland

Islamabad — Defence and Martyrs’ Day is a national occasion that reminds us of the brave Ghazis and martyrs who never hesitated to sacrifice their lives for the security, sovereignty and honour of the homeland. Among these distinguished sons of the soil is Havildar Chaudhry Zaheer Ahmed Shaheed, whose immortal sacrifice is being honoured by the entire nation today.

On this occasion, the family of Havildar Chaudhry Zaheer Ahmed Shaheed recalled memories of their beloved son and expressed immense pride in his spirit of patriotism and devotion to the country.

‘He Had a Deep Desire for Martyrdom’ — Mother and Wife Recall His Sacrifice

A mother’s prayers and upbringing play a fundamental role in shaping a martyr. Recalling her son, Havildar Zaheer Ahmed’s mother described him as a man of exceptional character.

She said:

“My son was a wonderful human being with an exceptional character. He loved all of us immensely and always took great care of us.”

Speaking about her son’s heartfelt devotion, she said:

“My son had a deep desire for martyrdom. I pray that Allah Almighty accepts his sacrifice and grants him the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous.”

For the martyr’s wife, the pain of his separation is impossible to express in words. Paying tribute to her husband’s devotion to duty, she said he was an exceptionally loving and caring person. She added that September 6 is, in fact, a day to refresh the memories of those great martyrs who sacrificed everything for the survival of the country.

‘My Son Has Made Us Proud Forever’

Losing a child is one of the greatest sorrows a father can endure, but when a son sacrifices his life for the homeland, grief is transformed into pride. The father of Havildar Zaheer Ahmed Shaheed also expressed immense pride in his son’s martyrdom.

Expressing his emotions, he delivered an inspiring message:

“I am immensely proud of my son’s martyrdom. By sacrificing his life for this soil, he has made us proud forever.”

Alongside remembering his own son, he also paid tribute to all the martyrs of Pakistan, saying that he salutes from the depths of his heart all those guardians of the country who sacrificed their lives for the security of the motherland.
