Defence and Martyrs’ Day: Dignified Ceremonies Held Across Punjab, Glowing Tribute Paid to Martyrs

Islamabad (Web Desk) — On the occasion of Defence and Martyrs’ Day, dignified ceremonies were held across Punjab to pay rich tribute to the immortal sacrifices of the nation’s heroes. Governor Punjab, provincial ministers and senior civil and military officials visited the martyrs’ memorials and laid floral wreaths in their honour.

A large number of families of martyrs, Ghazis, military officers, soldiers and citizens participated in the ceremony held in Lahore.

Special exhibitions of modern military weapons and equipment were also organized in Gujranwala and Bahawalpur, attracting keen interest from students and the public. Participants expressed their patriotic spirit by raising resounding slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pak Fauj Zindabad.”

In addition, people visited the graves of martyrs and offered Fateha in Lodhran, Mailsi, Okara, Pakpattan, Rahim Yar Khan and other cities.

Citizens participating in the ceremonies said that the sacrifices of the martyrs have made the defence of the homeland impregnable. They expressed pride in the brave sons of the soil whose sacrifices continue to inspire the nation and keep its resolve high.
