Dana Sar Bus Tragedy: Case Registered Against Bus Company and Driver
Quetta / Dana Sar — Following the tragic passenger bus accident in the border area of Dana Sar between Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial administration has initiated legal proceedings by registering a criminal case against the bus company and the driver. The accident claimed the lives of 40 passengers, while 8 others were seriously injured.
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for Political and Media Affairs, Shahid Rind, told the media that the provincial government has ordered a high-level investigation into every aspect of the incident. He said those found responsible for endangering public lives would face strict legal action without exception.
Casualties and Government Response
Following the tragedy, the district administration and the Transport Department have been placed on high alert.

New Directives for the Transport Department
- Mandatory Fitness Certification: Passenger buses that fail to meet safety and fitness standards will not be allowed to operate.
- Route Permit Cancellation: Companies found violating traffic laws and safety regulations will face cancellation of their route permits.
- Enhanced Safety Requirements: Long-distance buses will be required to install speed control devices and ensure the availability of alternate drivers during journeys.
The provincial government emphasized that protecting the lives and property of passengers on national highways remains its highest priority and that negligence by transport operators or officials will not be tolerated.
