Pak-China friendship commands ultimate national consensus; Phase-II to prioritize industrial growth, AI, and green economy; Absolute security guaranteed for Chinese nationals
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has proposed the establishment of "Five Political Corridors" under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC 2.0) framework. The strategic initiative aims to foster institutionalized policy continuity and cross-party consensus between Pakistani political entities and the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC).
Integrating Economic and Political Frameworks
The Federal Minister highlighted that cooperation under CPEC 2.0 is already actively progressing across four newly designed specialized dimensions:
The Growth Corridor (Industrial expansion and macro-economic stability)
The Innovation Corridor (Technological integration and digitalization)
The Green Corridor (Sustainable energy and eco-friendly economic modules)
The Regional Development Corridor (Geographic connectivity and trade modernization)
To safeguard these economic paths from domestic political transitions, the proposed "Political Corridors" will act as a stabilizing anchor, ensuring long-term strategic alignment and insulation of mega-projects from partisan shifts.
An Unshakable Bilateral Bond and National Consensus
Ahsan Iqbal emphasized that the Pak-China strategic partnership represents Pakistan’s strongest and most resilient national consensus. Regardless of internal political dynamics, every political faction in Pakistan stands completely unified regarding its ties with Beijing, enjoying unprecedented public and political goodwill.
"CPEC has fundamentally revolutionized Pakistan's economic and infrastructural landscape," Minister Ahsan Iqbal noted. "By lifting over 800 million people out of poverty, China has set a historic benchmark driven by visionary leadership, strict meritocracy, and flawless policy continuity. CPEC 2.0 will now mirror these methodologies by pivoting toward deep industrial growth, high-tech cooperation, agricultural modernization, and a robust green economy."
Focus on Artificial Intelligence and Security Assurances
The Ministry underscored that the next phase of the corridor will heavily emphasize youth empowerment, educational exchanges, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and advanced technical training. The Minister reaffirmed that Pakistan is fully committed to executing all CPEC timelines seamlessly.
Addressing security concerns, Ahsan Iqbal issued a categorical assurance that the state will employ all resources to provide absolute, foolproof security to Chinese nationals, professionals, and enterprises operating within Pakistan. He reiterated that the bilateral brotherhood remains anchored in profound mutual trust, strategic partnership, and a shared vision for regional prosperity.
