QUETTA – Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced on Monday that security and intelligence agencies have successfully foiled a major terror plot targeting the federal capital, Islamabad. The operation resulted in the recovery of a young woman who was being groomed for a suicide mission.
Timely Intelligence Foils Islamabad Attack
During a press conference, CM Sarfraz Bugti revealed that the recovered individual had been assigned a specific target in Islamabad. "Timely action based on credible intelligence prevented a catastrophe," the Chief Minister stated, adding that the plot was a blatant attempt to destabilize the country.
Exploitation of Youth and Tribal Values
The Chief Minister strongly condemned the tactics of terrorist organizations, noting that they have no link to Baloch traditions or values.
Forced Indoctrination: The girl was undergoing rigorous training for terrorism, and her father was reportedly threatened with death to ensure her participation.
Education vs. Extremism: "We want to give our daughters pens and education, but terrorists are forcing them into suicide jackets," Bugti remarked.
Rehabilitation and Safe Return
In a move emphasizing a humanitarian approach, the provincial government confirmed that the young girl is being reunited with her family. The Chief Minister stated that she is being handed over to her father with full dignity, highlighting the state's role as a protector against extremist exploitation.
