The Balochistan government is preparing a comprehensive, sustainable, and practical policy framework to promote mountaineering, sports climbing, hiking, adventure tourism, and canoe-kayak water sports across the province.
The announcement was made during a two-day conference organized by the Balochistan Tourism Department in Quetta under the patronage of Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism and Culture Nawabzada Zarin Khan Magsi.
The conference was addressed by Alpine Club of Pakistan President Irfan Arshad Khan and Senior Vice President Shehzada Hayatullah Khan Durrani (Pride of Performance).
The speakers emphasized the need to provide better facilities, modern training programmes, and institutional support to climbers, hikers, mountaineers, and water sports athletes in order to improve the standard of adventure sports in Balochistan.
They said Balochistan’s diverse natural landscapes hold immense potential for the promotion of adventure tourism, which can be introduced at both national and international levels through effective planning.
