Commander Southern Command Visits Panjgur, Inaugurates Jinnah IT Hub and Educational Projects
Panjgur — The Commander Southern Command Balochistan visited Panjgur to promote digital education, modern skills and improved educational infrastructure for the region’s youth. During the visit, several development and educational projects were formally inaugurated under the Balochistan Special Development Initiative (BSDI).
The primary objective of these initiatives is to empower local youth by providing them with access to modern technology, professional skills and quality educational facilities.
New Educational and Digital Facilities Inaugurated
During the visit, the Commander Southern Command inaugurated several important projects:
Jinnah IT Hub: A modern facility designed to equip young people with skills in freelancing, e-commerce and other areas of the digital economy.
Sir Syed Ahmad Khan Lounge: A cafeteria and recreational facility established at the University of Makran by FC Balochistan (South) Parwaaz Foundation, along with an adjoining mosque.
Allama Iqbal Auditorium: A newly established 120-seat auditorium at the University of Makran, equipped with modern sound systems and furniture.
Key Features of Jinnah IT Hub
The Jinnah IT Hub has been established to promote digital inclusion and create new opportunities for young people in Panjgur. Its facilities include:
50 Modern Computers: A fully equipped computer hall with advanced workstations for students.
Freelancers Zone: High-speed internet connectivity and access to a digital library to support online work and learning.
Uninterrupted Power Supply: A substantial solar power backup system to facilitate e-commerce, freelancing and other online activities.
Sustainable Peace and Employment Opportunities
Addressing the gathering, the Commander Southern Command emphasized that acquiring modern digital skills is essential to meeting the demands of the rapidly changing global economy.
He said that security is a collective responsibility and that the primary objective of security forces is to help establish sustainable peace, support development projects according to the aspirations of local communities and ensure improved public services.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, laptops were also distributed on merit among talented male and female students of the University of Makran and the Women Skill Development Centre Panjgur.
