CM Bugti Announces Key Reforms to Improve Literacy and School Infrastructure

Quetta, June 5: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that education is the foundation of a strong, peaceful, and developed Balochistan, adding that no child in the province will be forced to sit on the floor in schools.

In a post on social media platform X, the Chief Minister stated that every child has the right to learn with dignity, proper desks, and improved educational facilities that build confidence and self-respect.

He said the provincial government has taken major reform decisions to improve literacy and ensure quality education for all, including the launch of double-shift systems in 900 schools, salary increases for NCHD teachers, introduction of standardized reading and writing materials, and construction of additional classrooms in 3,000 single-room schools.

The Chief Minister also announced the complete elimination of the “taati culture” from government schools, ensuring that every student will have access to proper desks and a dignified learning environment.

He reaffirmed his commitment to personally monitor the implementation of these reforms and said he would conduct surprise visits to schools in remote areas to ensure progress on the ground.

“Every child in Balochistan will sit on a desk, not on the floor,” he emphasized, adding that the reforms aim to transform the province’s education system and improve literacy levels.
