Islamabad (Web Desk) — Like people in other parts of the country, residents of Chitral have strongly supported the creation of new administrative units to promote sustainable development, balanced regional prosperity and effective governance. Local citizens have called for the establishment of a separate province by merging the districts of Chitral, Dir and Swat as part of broader administrative reforms.

Describing the creation of new provinces as an urgent need, residents said Chitral is an extremely vast district in terms of geographical area, making it very difficult for ordinary citizens to access the Chief Minister and other senior provincial authorities under the existing administrative setup.

According to local residents, the creation of smaller administrative units or a separate province would not only make it easier for people to approach government authorities but would also help bridge the gap between state institutions and citizens.

Citizens believe that establishing a new administrative framework would significantly improve service delivery, with positive and beneficial effects extending beyond Chitral to the country as a whole.
