Quetta — Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has approved the immediate launch of a sanitization operation against terrorists in Hanna Urak and surrounding areas in response to the deteriorating law and order situation.

The decision was made during a high-level security meeting in Quetta, where authorities reviewed a comprehensive strategy aimed at restoring peace and reinforcing the state's authority in the affected region.

Alongside security measures, the provincial government also decided to pursue political engagement. A high-powered negotiation committee, headed by Provincial Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove and Provincial Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, has been formed to address the concerns of protesters in Hanna Urak. The committee will immediately begin consultations with tribal elders and elected representatives.

Joint Check Post to Be Established; Crackdown on Militants Intensified

To strengthen long-term security, the Chief Minister directed the establishment of a joint security check post in Hanna Urak, which will become operational today. Personnel from all relevant law enforcement agencies will jointly perform security duties at the facility.

"There will be no compromise on the writ of the state," Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said. "Those responsible for the tragic Hanna Urak incident, along with their facilitators, will be brought to justice, and the operation will continue until its logical conclusion."

Compensation for Victims and Tribute to Local Tribes

The Chief Minister praised the courage and patriotism of the local tribes, saying they had shown remarkable bravery in confronting terrorists.

He instructed the administration to respect the constitutional right to peaceful protest and to take practical steps to address the protesters' concerns through dialogue.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti also announced that financial assistance and compensation for the families of those killed and other victims would begin within the next two days. He reaffirmed that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the government's highest priority.
