Breakthrough in Ziarat Tragedy Sit-In Talks as Government and Committee Finalise Draft Agreement

Parties Expected to Sign After Friday Prayers; Martyrs’ Bodies to Be Sent to Native Areas for Burial

Quetta: A major breakthrough has been achieved in negotiations between the government delegation and the sit-in committee to end the protest being held in Quetta over the Ziarat tragedy.

The first round of talks between the two sides has concluded successfully, with complete consensus reached on a comprehensive draft agreement.

According to government sources, certain negative reports circulating on social media regarding the protest and negotiations are untrue, while the working relationship between the two sides remains strong.

Draft to Be Presented to Protesters After Final Signatures

Sources said both sides are expected to formally sign the agreed draft after Friday prayers today.

Once the signing process is completed, the joint written agreement will be presented to the protesters and the families of the martyrs gathered at Koila Phatak for final approval.

Details of the Next Steps Agreed by the Government and Sit-In Committee

According to the schedule agreed between committee representatives and government officials, the following steps will be taken:

Transfer of bodies: Immediately after the formal signing of the agreement, the bodies of the martyrs present at the protest site will be sent to their native areas for burial.

Continued coordination: Even after the sit-in ends, regular communication and dialogue between the government delegation and the protest committee will continue to ensure implementation of the agreed points.

Rejection of rumours: The administration has appealed to citizens not to pay attention to unverified reports circulating on social media and to rely only on official and verified sources.
