Balochistan Weather Update: Sibbi Scorches at 43°C; Rain Predicted in Quetta and Ziarat

QUETTA: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted hot and dry weather across most districts of Balochistan, with southern parts of the province experiencing severe heatwave conditions. However, a brief respite is expected in northern areas due to isolated rain.

Rainfall and Thunderstorms Forecasted for Northern Districts

According to the latest advisory issued by the PMD, partly cloudy weather conditions are expected in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, and adjoining areas. The met office has predicted chances of wind-thunderstorms with scattered rainfall in these specific regions over the next 24 hours.

Temperature Dashboard: Current Readings Across Balochistan 

The inland plains of the province remain under intense heat, with Sibbi emerging as the hottest spot. Below is the comprehensive list of temperatures recorded across key districts:

Sibbi: 43°C (Severe Heatwave)

Turbat: 41°C (Extremely Hot)

Nokkundi: 40°C (Hot and Dry)

Chaman: 35°C (Warm)

Quetta: 33°C (Partly Cloudy / Rain Forecast)

Jiwani: 33°C (Humid Coastal)

Gwadar: 32°C (Coastal)

Zhob: 31°C (Partly Cloudy / Rain Forecast)

Kalat: 28°C (Mild/Pleasant)

Ziarat: 22°C (Cool / Rain Forecast)

Coastal and Southern Regional Outlook 

The meteorological department highlighted that southern plain districts like Turbat and Nokkundi are facing intense summer conditions, with mercury levels crossing 40°C. Meanwhile, the coastal belt of Balochistan maintains moderate but humid temperatures, with Gwadar recording 32°C and Jiwani at 33°C due to maritime influences.
