Balochistan Successfully Auctions Wheat Stocks in Zhob Under Transparent Process

QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan successfully completed the open auction of wheat stocks at the Provincial Reserve Centre (PRC) Zhob, generating more than Rs95.5 million through a transparent and merit-based bidding process.


The auction was conducted under the directives of the provincial government and supervised by CMIT Committee Chairman Noor Muhammad Jogezai along with committee members. Flour mill owners, wheat dealers, and traders participated actively in the bidding.


According to official details, a total of 10,503 wheat bags were auctioned, including 7,470 bags of locally produced wheat and 3,033 bags of wheat from Punjab. Local wheat was sold at Rs8,630 per bag, while Punjab wheat fetched Rs10,250 per bag, bringing the total auction value to Rs95,554,350.


Among the participants, Syed Asadullah emerged as the successful bidder. Other bidders included Abdul Sadiq Flour Mill, Samiullah Flour Mill Quetta, and Naeem Shah Traders.


Director General Commodity Management Balochistan Shujaat Ali Khosa said the auction was conducted in full compliance with government regulations, ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability throughout the process.


He emphasized that transparent management and disposal of government wheat stocks remain a key priority of the provincial administration. Officials from various departments, including the district administration and agriculture department, monitored the proceedings.


Participants appreciated the transparent conduct of the auction and described it as a positive step toward efficient commodity management and good governance in Balochistan.
