Balochistan PML-N Leaders Condemn Chaman Blast, Criticize Achakzai’s Remarks
QUETTA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) parliamentarians from Balochistan strongly condemned the recent Chaman Railway Crossing blast and other incidents of unrest in the province, expressing solidarity with affected families and reaffirming their commitment to peace and stability.
Speaking at a joint press conference led by Provincial Minister Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa, party leaders emphasized that the patriotism of Pashtuns living in Pakistan should never be questioned and rejected any attempts to create divisions among communities.
The press conference was attended by Provincial General Secretary Jamal Shah Kakar, MNA Akhtar Bibi, provincial ministers Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Muhammad Khan Lehri, Mir Asim Kurd Gillo, Haji Barkat Rind, Hadia Nawaz Behrani, Naseem-ur-Rehman Malakhail, and other party leaders. Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail was also present.
Addressing the media, Mir Saleem Khosa criticized recent remarks made by Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai during a public gathering in Chaman. He said the comments regarding Afghanistan and border-related issues were inappropriate and required greater political responsibility.
Khosa stated that Pakistan’s Constitution and laws clearly define matters related to citizenship, national security, and border management. He stressed that any discussion about dismantling borders or forming private militias was unacceptable and contrary to the law.
He reiterated that safeguarding national security and defending the country remain the sole responsibility of state institutions and the armed forces.
Regarding border trade, Khosa said the government is working to establish a secure and effective framework to facilitate trade along the Pakistan-Afghanistan and Pakistan-Iran borders while protecting national interests and supporting local communities dependent on cross-border commerce.
The PML-N leaders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace, economic development, and national unity across Balochistan.
