Balochistan is the key pillar of national development and stability, lasting peace is essential for prosperity: President Asif Zardari

Quetta (Balochistan News Desk)Asif Ali Zardari met with Pakistan Peoples Party central leader Mir Shafiq-ur-Rehman Mengal, during which detailed discussions were held on the country’s overall political situation, national unity, peace and order in Balochistan, organizational matters, and the upcoming by-election of NA-256.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the need for Pakistan to ensure internal stability, political wisdom, and national harmony. The participants agreed that in the current sensitive situation, all democratic and federal forces have a responsibility to go beyond personal and group interests and play their role in strengthening state stability, constitutional supremacy, and democratic continuity.

President Asif Ali Zardari, on the occasion, termed political reconciliation and an effective strategy essential for addressing the situation in Balochistan, its challenges, and public issues. He said that Balochistan is the foundational pillar of Pakistan’s ideological and geographical integrity, and without lasting peace, development, and political stability there, the dream of national prosperity cannot be fully achieved.

Mir Shafiq-ur-Rehman Mengal also briefed the meeting on the overall situation in various districts of Balochistan, particularly Jhalawan and surrounding areas, public issues, the need for peace, political workers’ activities, and party organizational matters. He said that the people of Balochistan have now rejected politics of chaos, oppression, and hatred and desire development and stability.
