Balochistan Government Achieves Historic Milestone: 2,966 Development Projects Completed, Rs 28 Billion Saved
Quetta (Web Desk): The Government of Balochistan has achieved a historic milestone by successfully completing 100% of the development projects approved in the provincial budget during the last fiscal year, marking an unprecedented achievement in the province's history.
Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Mir Zahoor Buledi presented the annual performance report to Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. Appreciating the accomplishment, the Chief Minister announced commendation certificates for the Provincial Development Minister, Chief Secretary, Secretary Planning & Development, and other officials for their outstanding performance.
Secretaries Committee Reviews Fiscal Performance and Development Progress
The achievement was highlighted during a high-level Secretaries Committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, where the progress of development projects and fiscal management was reviewed in detail.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan briefed participants on key achievements:
- Record Savings: The provincial government saved Rs 28 billion in non-development expenditures during the previous fiscal year.
- Development Success: A total of 2,966 development projects were completed within the stipulated timeframe.
- Roadmap for the Current Fiscal Year: Work is progressing rapidly on 2,280 new development projects, with a commitment to complete them on schedule.
No Compromise on Transparency and Good Governance: Chief Minister Bugti
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that the successful completion of development targets was made possible through strong oversight and an effective monitoring system.
"Every single rupee of Balochistan's public resources will be spent solely on the welfare of the people. There will be no compromise on Key Priorities and Future Strategy
The provincial government outlined several priorities aimed at sustaining development momentum:
- Eliminating Corruption: Strengthened oversight through the Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT) and the Monitoring & Evaluation Directorate to enhance transparency and accountability.
- Inclusive Development: Ensuring that the benefits of development reach every district and every citizen across Balochistan without discrimination.
- Timely Completion of Projects: Accelerating the execution of ongoing and pending projects, with timely completion remaining the government's top priority.
The government stated that improved financial discipline, effective governance, and efficient utilization of public funds will continue to support sustainable development and strengthen public service delivery across the province.
