Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has welcomed the landing of South Air’s first successful test flight at the New Gwadar International Airport

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has welcomed the landing of South Air’s first successful test flight at the New Gwadar International Airport, calling it a vital milestone towards the development of Balochistan, better regional connectivity and promotion of economic activities.

 In a message on social networking site X, the Balochistan Chief Minister said that with the commencement of air operations by South Air, Gwadar would have effective and modern air connectivity with various important cities of the country, which will provide safe, fast and quality travel facilities to the public. He said that under the proposed air network, Gwadar would be connected to Turbat, Panjgur, Quetta, Sukkur, Lahore, Islamabad and various cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which would further strengthen transportation and business links in the province.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that Gwadar has become an important hub for Pakistan’s economic development, maritime trade and regional connectivity saying that the launch of new air services would not only increase tourism, trade and investment opportunities but could also give a new dimension to economic activities at the local level.

He said that improved air connectivity would play a significant role in creating new employment opportunities and strengthening the local economy.

 The Chief Minister of Balochistan, while terming this development as the fruit of joint efforts of the federal and provincial governments, said that the development of Gwadar is among the top priorities of the government.

 He reiterated the commitment that all available resources will be utilized to develop Gwadar as an international standard economic and trade hub.

He said that the successful test flight of South Air at the New Gwadar International Airport is a positive and encouraging development towards a bright future, better travel facilities and economic prosperity of Balochistan.
