Balochistan Assembly Speaker Meets Ayaz Sadiq Over Parliamentary Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly, Captain (Retd) Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai, met Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Wednesday to discuss inter-provincial parliamentary relations, the overall political situation in the country, and law and order in Balochistan.

The meeting focused on promoting parliamentary cooperation among provinces, strengthening democratic institutions, and improving coordination between federal and provincial legislatures.

During the meeting, Ayaz Sadiq said that stronger inter-provincial parliamentary cooperation was essential for institutional stability and effective governance in a democratic system.

He said increased interaction between legislatures would help exchange parliamentary experiences while promoting harmony, understanding, and mutual trust among federating units.

Highlighting Balochistan’s geographical and economic significance, the National Assembly speaker said the province’s development and sustainable peace were directly linked to Pakistan’s overall progress.

Ayaz Sadiq stated that the federal government was taking priority-based measures for Balochistan’s development, including infrastructure improvement and the provision of public welfare services.

He added that special attention was being given to education, skills development, and employment opportunities for youth in the province.

The National Assembly speaker also reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to strengthening institutional cooperation between the federation and provinces.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Khaliq Achakzai appreciated the federal government’s efforts for development and peace in Balochistan, saying the initiatives were producing positive results for the people of the province.

He stressed that promoting inter-provincial parliamentary cooperation was the need of the hour to improve coordination and policymaking among provinces.

Achakzai expressed hope that continued liaison between the National Assembly and provincial assemblies would further strengthen the process of development and prosperity in Balochistan.
