Balochistan Announces First-Ever Investment and Trade Expo

Quetta — On the special directives of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Balochistan will host its first-ever "Balochistan Investment and Trade Expo" next month. The landmark event is being jointly organized by the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) and the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS).

To finalize preparations, a high-level consultative meeting was held at BUITEMS under the chairmanship of BBoIT Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar. The meeting was attended by BBoIT CEO Qaim Lashari, BUITEMS Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mir Waiz Kasi, Registrar Dr. Ahsan Achakzai, FPCCI Advisory Board Chairman Mian Zahid Hussain, along with representatives from the banking, business, and social sectors.

Addressing the meeting, Bilal Khan Kakar said the Chief Minister has directed all relevant departments to facilitate investors and the business community while ensuring greater ease of doing business across the province.

He stated that the government is taking practical steps to encourage young people towards manufacturing and entrepreneurship, adding that the time has come to project Balochistan's peaceful, positive, and investment-friendly image to the world.

BUITEMS Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Mir Waiz Kasi described the expo as a significant milestone and assured the university's full support. He also appreciated the efforts being made to improve the province's business environment.

According to BBoIT CEO Qaim Lashari, the expo will provide an important platform not only for established businesses but also for startups and young entrepreneurs, enabling them to connect with financial institutions and potential investors.

BUITEMS Registrar Dr. Ahsan Achakzai briefed participants on the exhibition's objectives, hall layouts, and the proposed event schedule.

The expo is expected to showcase Balochistan's economic potential and promote foreign investment in key sectors including mining, livestock, agriculture, and emerging industries.
