ATC Quetta Sentences Dr. Mahrang Baloch to Life Imprisonment

Quetta — The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) No. 1 in Quetta has sentenced BYC leader Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Sibghatullah to life imprisonment after finding them guilty in the murder case of security official Shabbir during violent unrest in Gwadar.

Due to security concerns and the sensitive nature of the case, the trial was conducted online. Both accused participated in the proceedings via video link from District Jail Quetta. The court noted that the prosecution presented substantial evidence and witness testimonies supporting the charges.

According to the case details, the accused were nominated in the murder case of security official Shabbir, who lost his life during a violent protest in Gwadar. Prosecutors argued that intense stone-pelting by protesters led to fatal injuries sustained by the security official.

After reviewing all evidence, witness statements, and legal arguments, the court concluded that the charges had been proven and awarded life imprisonment to both convicts. Earlier, the constitutional petition challenging Dr. Mahrang Baloch’s arrest had also been dismissed by the Balochistan High Court after detailed hearings.
