Quetta — A highly important consultative meeting of the provincial parliamentary committee on the budget was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, aimed at finalizing a balanced and people-friendly budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
The meeting was attended by parliamentary leaders from major political parties including the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Jamaat-e-Islami, and Awami National Party (ANP). Participants presented detailed proposals for the sustainable development of the province.
Budget formulation through political consultation
During the session, representatives from all parties discussed proposed development schemes focusing on public welfare and the improvement of the province’s infrastructure. The Chief Minister emphasized that the government believes in collective consultation to ensure uniform development across all districts.
“Despite limited resources, our government is committed to providing maximum relief to the people. Positive and constructive suggestions from all political parties are being included in the budget-making process,” said Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Chief Minister of Balochistan.
Priority to education, health, and underdeveloped areas
The Chief Minister assured participants that the upcoming budget will prioritize public needs over traditional political considerations. The key focus areas will include:
- Basic services: Significant allocation for education and health sectors
- Underdeveloped districts: Priority development of remote and backward areas to address feelings of deprivation
- Transparency and quality: No compromise on transparency and timely completion of development projects
Concluding the meeting, the Chief Minister stated that the prosperity of the province is only possible when transparency is ensured in development processes and public funds are utilized effectively for the benefit of the people.
