ANF and Türkiye Agree on Joint Measures for Drug Control and Rehabilitation

Rawalpindi: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and a high-level Turkish delegation from the International Federation of Green Crescent have agreed to further strengthen international cooperation for drug prevention and the rehabilitation of affected individuals.

The development came during a recent visit to ANF Headquarters in Rawalpindi by the Turkish delegation, led by the Secretary-General of the International Federation of Green Crescent.

Briefing on ANF Performance and Rehabilitation Programmes

During the visit, the senior Turkish delegation received a detailed briefing on ANF’s organisational structure, major nationwide achievements and ongoing counter-narcotics initiatives.

Key Points

Model Rehabilitation Centres: The delegation was briefed on the performance of ANF’s Model Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres (MATRCs), as well as the treatment and rehabilitation process provided to people affected by drug addiction.

Shared Objectives: Both sides emphasised enhancing mutual cooperation to achieve common goals in drug prevention, public awareness campaigns and rehabilitation.

Information Sharing: Coordination and the exchange of intelligence between the two countries will be made more effective through Türkiye’s Drug Liaison Officer Office in Pakistan.

Renewed Commitment to Address Drug-Related Challenges

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to extending all possible cooperation in combating the global menace of narcotics.
