Morocco: Pakistan’s prominent golfer Ahmed Ali Baig delivered an impressive performance at the IGPL Rising Star Morocco Golf Tournament, finishing in seventh place overall.
During the four-day international competition, Ahmed Ali Baig recorded a total score of 11-under-par and effectively represented Pakistan among distinguished golfers from around the world.
The Pakistani golfer did not have the start he had hoped for and came under pressure after scoring one-over-par in the opening round. However, he made a strong comeback in the second round by shooting six-under-par, significantly improving his position on the leaderboard.
He maintained his momentum in the third round with a score of two-under-par and concluded the tournament with an impressive four-under-par performance in the final round.
The tournament title was won by Tanapat Pichaikool, while Ahmed Ali Baig finished six strokes behind the winner.
A total of 144 golfers from around the world participated in the major golf event held in Morocco, with a total prize purse of US$160,000.
Ahmed Ali Baig’s performance is being regarded as a positive development for Pakistani golf on the international stage and is expected to further highlight the capabilities of the country’s golfers in global competitions.
