54 Militants Killed, 42 Security Personnel Martyred in Counterterrorism Operations in Balochistan

Rawalpindi — The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) said during a press briefing that security forces conducted multiple counterterrorism operations across Balochistan over the past four days, killing 54 militants during engagements.

According to the military spokesperson, three major terrorist incidents occurred in the province during the period, targeting civilians and police positions. He said 42 members of the security forces and police were killed while responding to the attacks.

Operations Conducted Following Multiple Attacks

The DG ISPR outlined the sequence of recent security operations and incidents.

Key developments include:

• Timeline of Incidents: The first attacks occurred during the night of 4–5 July, followed by another major incident on 6 July.
• Attacks in Ziarat and Mangi Dam Area: Police checkpoints and security positions near the Mangi Dam pumping station and Ziarat were attacked. According to officials, 18 police personnel, all from local police units, were killed during the incidents.
• Latest Operation: In the most recent operation, security forces reported killing 14 militants, while 11 security personnel lost their lives. Officials said a total of 54 militants had been killed over the four-day period.

Border Security and Ongoing Operations

During the briefing, the DG ISPR stated that Pakistan has repeatedly expressed concerns about the use of Afghan territory by militant groups for attacks inside Pakistan. He also alleged foreign involvement in supporting militant activities in Balochistan.

Officials said:

• Clearance Operations Continue: Intelligence-based search and clearance operations are ongoing to locate remaining militants and their alleged facilitators.
