Quetta: What security sources describe as evidence of the involvement of Afghan elements in terrorist activities in Pakistan has emerged once again. According to security sources, Afghan nationals were among the militants of the group referred to as “Fitna al-Hindustan” who were killed in the Mastung attack.

Security sources claim that an official card belonging to Afghanistan’s intelligence agency, the General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI), was recovered from the possession of the militant identified as Zulfiqar alias Abu Umar, who was killed during the operation. An Afghan identity document, known as a Tazkira, was also reportedly recovered from another deceased militant, Khalil Ahmed.

According to the sources, an alleged nexus between India’s intelligence agency RAW and the Afghan Taliban regime for carrying out sabotage activities in Pakistan has previously been mentioned in intelligence reports. According to the findings of a confidential report, a joint covert network between RAW and Afghan intelligence was allegedly traced in 2025.

The report claims that the Indian intelligence agency provided $7.8 million in funding to spread unrest and terrorism in Balochistan. It further alleges that, on the special instructions of Taliban leader Mullah Hibatullah, the militants of “Fitna al-Hindustan” were provided with advanced weapons and logistical support.

According to the documents cited by the sources, an official letter allegedly written by Mullah Hibatullah regarding the provision of weapons to the group is being presented as evidence of a nexus between the two sides. The sources allege that, with the alleged cooperation of the Afghan Taliban regime, RAW continues to use Afghan territory for the training, financial support and provision of safe havens to militants targeting Pakistan.
