Quetta: Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and security forces have foiled a major attempt to smuggle weapons and ammunition from Afghanistan during a joint intelligence-based operation in Pishin district.

According to security sources, the operation was conducted in the Saranan area of Pishin under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3. Acting on intelligence, the forces raided a warehouse and seized a vehicle loaded with weapons and ammunition.

Sources said the seized vehicle contained three rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), four light machine guns (LMGs), one machine gun, hand grenades, rockets and a large quantity of modern ammunition, reportedly being transported from Afghanistan.

Following the operation, the area was cordoned off, and a search operation remains underway amid concerns about the possible presence of militant elements.

Security sources further stated that security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to restoring peace and stability in Balochistan and eliminating terrorism from the province.
