Russian Interior Minister Meets Army Chief, Discusses Security Cooperation

Rawalpindi (October 14, 2026): Russian Federation Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev held an important meeting with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military), Hilal-e-Jurat, at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting included detailed discussions on matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation and, in particular, ways to enhance bilateral security cooperation. Both leaders emphasised strengthening institutional ties between the security agencies of Pakistan and Russia and improving coordination.

On the occasion, the Army Chief and Chief of Defence Forces reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its longstanding relations with Russia. He stressed the need to expand concrete and practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly security.

The Russian Interior Minister appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote regional peace and stability and acknowledged the professionalism and significant sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.
