Islamabad: A significant development has emerged in Pakistan’s textile sector regarding foreign investment and industrial expansion, with a leading Chinese textile company set to establish a modern export centre in the country.

According to Chen Yan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Challenge Fashion, the company has been investing in Pakistan since 2014 and has so far exported textile products worth more than $300 million from Pakistan.

He said the company is now planning to establish a large-scale factory equipped with state-of-the-art technology for the production of fabrics and garments.

The major industrial project is expected to create more than 25,000 new employment opportunities locally, while the company is targeting annual exports of more than $400 million.
