Indian Army’s Alleged Fake Encounter Exposed, Says Information Minister
Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting has said that the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR)’s press conference exposed what he described as a “fake encounter” by the Indian Army and laid bare its alleged false claims.
In a statement posted on social media, the Information Minister said that Muhammad Asif is alive and well, and called on India to explain to the world which innocent Kashmiri was killed and presented as Asif in the alleged encounter.
The minister said that presenting the body of an innocent Kashmiri as Muhammad Asif constituted, in his words, a serious embarrassment and humiliation at the highest level for India.
He further said that following Muhammad Asif’s appearance before the media, the Indian Army had no way to avoid addressing the matter and would have to provide a formal explanation to the international community regarding the identity of the civilian allegedly killed in the encounter.
