Amid an ongoing discussion across Pakistan about the creation of new provinces and administrative units, residents of Hazara Division have once again strongly demanded the establishment of a separate Hazara Province.

Local residents maintain that the creation of Hazara Province is their fundamental constitutional and administrative right. They argue that people in every region should have priority access to and a say over their local resources, and therefore they are also demanding their rights over the resources of their area.

Residents further said that establishing new provinces on administrative grounds has become an important need. They pointed out that people often have to travel long distances to Peshawar to deal with routine administrative and legal matters, resulting in significant loss of time as well as serious travel and financial difficulties.
