Governor’s Rule in KP Welcomed by Residents, Celebrations Reported
Peshawar (Monitoring Desk): Residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have widely welcomed the decision to impose governor’s rule and a state of emergency in the province, with public celebrations reported in various areas.
Residents dissatisfied with the performance of the provincial government expressed satisfaction with the federal government’s decision. In some locations, people also set off fireworks to celebrate the development.
Residents of Peshawar described the federal government’s move as timely, saying that development projects across the province had come to a complete standstill, while the chief minister had remained focused on public rallies, marches and protest politics. They said the decision should have been taken several months earlier in the interest of the people of the province.
Residents further said they were highly satisfied with the decision and were observing it as a “Day of Deliverance” from what they described as the ongoing stagnation in the province.
