Balochistan Sets Target of 740 New Water Supply Projects

Quetta: Work is progressing rapidly on projects aimed at providing clean drinking water to citizens across Balochistan under the Balochistan Special Development Initiative (BSDI).

According to official figures, 709 water supply projects were completed across the province last year, achieving an overall completion rate of 98 percent. During the 2025-26 financial year, Rs5.63 billion was allocated for these water supply schemes.

For the new financial year 2026-27, a target of 740 water supply projects has been set across all 41 districts of Balochistan. To further improve and strengthen water availability in the province, Rs6.21 billion has been allocated for the projects in the current fiscal year’s budget.

Local residents have welcomed the schemes being implemented under the Balochistan Special Development Initiative, describing them as a major step toward improving the provision of basic services.
