Baloch Youth Being Pushed into a Futile War Under a Conspiracy, Says Sarfraz Bugti
Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that Baloch youth are being pushed into a futile war under a deliberate conspiracy. However, he stressed that the government is determined to transform the younger generation into active and productive members of society rather than allowing them to take up arms.
Speaking exclusively to the media after the closing ceremony of the All-Pakistan Chief Minister Balochistan Gold Cup Football Tournament, the chief minister said the government’s foremost priority was to encourage young people to participate in positive and healthy activities such as sports.
He added that the narrative suggesting the government could not reach out to the public had been completely disproved by its presence at the event and the stadium packed with spectators.
Without naming anyone, Mir Sarfraz Bugti criticised the leadership of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying that the chief minister of one province repeatedly cited Balochistan as an example despite clear differences in their approaches.
“We bring young people together on sports grounds, whereas they gather people to march on a city,” he said, advising them to mobilise their people for sports and cultural festivals instead of promoting unrest and protests.
The Balochistan chief minister also made it clear that the provincial government stood shoulder to shoulder with the state and security forces in the fight against terrorism.
He expressed confidence that the state of Pakistan would ultimately prevail in this fight and emerge victorious.
