Asian Games 2026: Pakistan T20 Team Captaincy Given to Sahibzada Farhan

Lahore (Sports Desk): Pakistan has announced that Sahibzada Farhan will lead the national T20 cricket team for the Asian Games 2026.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), a 15-member squad has been announced for the Asian Games, with Sahibzada Farhan appointed as captain, while Abdul Samad has been named vice-captain.

The men’s T20 international cricket competition at the Asian Games will begin on September 24 in Aichi, Japan, while medal matches are scheduled for October 3.

Sahibzada Farhan has so far scored 1,305 runs in 46 T20 internationals for Pakistan, including two centuries and ten half-centuries.

Among the young players, Aaqif Javed, Ali Raza, Muaz Sadaqat, and Saad Masood are expected to make their debut in the national T20 squad.

The announced squad includes Sahibzada Farhan (captain), Abdul Samad (vice-captain), Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Aaqif Javed, Ali Raza, Arafat Minhas, Haider Ali, Hassan Nawaz, Muaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Salman Mirza, Saad Masood, Saim Ayub, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Usman Khan.

Most of the squad members will also participate in the white-ball camp starting June 15 in Lahore, where final preparations for the Asian Games will be completed.
